【摘要】:Thepresenceofwaterinsideamembraneswitchcanaffectitsmechanicaloperationorelectricalfunctionality,orboth.Thispracticeestablishesaproceduretoverifytheabilityofamembraneswitchtoresisttheentryofliquidintoitselforafinishedproduct,orboth.Itisusefulinidentifyingdesigndeficiencies.Hosedowntestingmaybedestructive,thereforeanysamplestestedshouldbeconsideredunfitforfutureuse.1.1Thispracticeestablishesproceduresforthehosedownofamembraneswitchtoverifyadequateprotectionfromingressofwaterfromahigh-volumewaterspray.1.2Thispracticecanalsobeusedtoverifytheabilityofamembraneswitchorgraphicslayertoactasaliquidsealforafinishedproduct.1.3Additionaltestmethodsorpracticescanbeincorporatedtoinvestigatespecificresultsorcapabilities.1.4ThispracticeisamodificationofNEMAPublicationNumber250-1991Section6.7whichisatestforhosedownofafinishedproducthousing.
